OTTAWA 12" LP reissue!

OTTAWA 12" $9.00

Upgraded reissue from the Ottawa side of their elusive split LP from the mid 90s with fellow Michigan-ers Jihad. The samples have been taken out, the production remixed and thickened, new artwork on nice, thick cardstock. 13 heavy, crust-core smashers recorded in 1994 previous to the formation of Nema. They only played a handful of shows, I was lucky enough to catch a couple devastating songs once upon a time in Dayton, OH at a More Than Music Fest. It's difficult to compare this to anything, but if I was forced to, I would say that it is in a similar vein to the first Drop Dead LP. One time pressing of 750.

Gasmask Terrör: Black Sun/Fake Gold 12" LP now available for North America!

AVAILABLE NOW! 2nd 12" and the perfect follow up to their 'Architects Of Death' 7". Crashing cymbals, distortion and ugly honesty assault your ears, as I believe hardcore punk is meant to be heard. In a sea of lazy music, this great band is a beacon in the night. This is the 4th record from this French group, don't look here if you're searching for a mellow time. 11 tracks, pressing of 700, split release with I Feel Good from France.

Following a bit of a delay, these are finally available for North America. After setting up a 2 week Eastern U.S. tour (+ one Canada date) for them in 2008 and now releasing their 2nd 12" LP, I hope to clue in the North American masses to the greatness of this band. There are thousands of generic, boring bands playing hardcore, d-beat, crust, what-have-you, but I believe that this band from Bordeaux, France is the real artifact and I am honored to take part in their new LP. I can only hope that others out there will share my love of this band!

$10.00 plus shipping for those living in the USA, $15.75 ppd. (includes postage) for Canada/Mexico. Order at: solar-funeral.org.

HJERTESTOP - Musik For Dekadente Ører 7"

HJERTESTOP - Musik For Dekadente Ører 7" $4.00

Brand new 7" for this great Danish band's 2nd U.S. tour. This is their third record, following an amazing 7" originally put out by Kick-N-Punch (but available in the U.S. from Fashionable Idiots) and a 12" released by No Way and Hjernespind. This is the silk screened tour version of this new record. I only have a few. Great, catchy Copenhagen punk.

CAPTIVES - Unspeakable Truths demo CS

CAPTIVES - Unspeakable Truths demo CS $3.00

New hardcore punk band from Cincinnati who has been practicing and going through line up changes for the past year+. Finally started playing shows and got this 9 song demo tape together. This comes with a lyric insert on a home dubbed pure black cassette. Lyrical content ranges from topics such as cosmic wrath to the sadness in the streets of Cincinnati. From the members of Paralyzer, Fuckedforlife, Black Dove, Tumor Feast, Still Crossed, etc. You can't neatly pigeon-hole this band, but to me, it is reminiscent of a more raw Holy Mountain. Ohio hardcore punk lives!

new Vaaska 12", State Poison 12", Anxiety 12" EP, Nuklear Blast Suntan 12", new tapes, etc

Vaaska 2nd lp

VAASKA - Ruido Hasta La Meurte 12" $10.00 **SOLD OUT

Fantastic new 12" from this Texas group. They were one of the best bands that I saw at Chaos In Tejas 2011. I have been waiting for this one! One of my favorite records this year. Raw hardcore punk.

State Poison LP

STATE POISON 12" $12.00

Savage debut LP by State Poison from France. Great follow up to their killer 7". Nasty hardcore with delayed out vocals to make you feel like you are hiding in an underground bunker.
Flower Of Carnage//Japan - Kick Rock//France

Nuklear Blast Suntan LP

NUKLEAR BLAST SUNTAN - Blot Out The Useless Sun 12" $8.00

"A difficult record to describe, which is why I like it so much. Alternating between short/fast/loud ragers and mid-tempo punk stompers, this has its roots in Disrupt/Destroy-styled crustcore (complete with absolutely scathing female vocals), but is certainly more dynamic and ambitious than any other band of that ilk. Heavy on the noise, but not in a raw recording or hyper-distorted treble way, instead with heavily affected psyched out guitars and lots of alien bleeps-and-bloops feedback. Real interesting arrangements and pacing leads to an engaging listen from start to finish, never falling into the monotony of brutality that a lot of bands of this ilk do."
I liken this band to Disrupt meets Hawkwind. Wait...what?

Anxiety - Pathetic

ANXIETY - Pathetic 12" EP $8.00

"Nine songs here that, to me, it sounds like late '80s British HC. I'd say Electro Hippies, Atavistic, that Terrorain demo 7" a bit or Death Sentence from Australia. It's got a lot of echo on the vocals and really negative and pessimistic lyrics with an appropriately raw recording. I hope people will be willing to take a chance on this. If you're into late '80s UKHC, check this out."

Social Napalm tape reissues

I got a very small batch of these. Gasmask Terrör / Bloodkrow Butcher split tape and a really fucking cool batch of official/authorized tape reissues, check these out!

V/A Thrash From Spain CS $3.00

"A Spanish hardcore punk compilation featuring multiple tracks by some of the best bands that Spain had to offer in the '80s including BAP, Eskupitajo, GRB, Gurilla Urbana, IV Reich, L'Odi Social, Radikal HC, RIP, and Subterranean Kids. Originally compiled and released on Ripping Thrash in the late '80s, this has been re-issued in it's original format with full permission from Ripping Thrash."

Social Napalm//USA

V/A Ripping Thrash "The Tape" CS $3.00

"Originally compiled and released by Ripping Thrash from the UK in 1988, this tape contains some absolutely legendary bands as well as some long forgotten gems including Heavy Discipline (UK), Halle 54 (Germany), L'Odi Social (Spain), Feed Your Head (UK), 2227 (Yugoslavia), GRB (Spain), KGB (Germany), III Kategorija (Yugoslavia), IV Reich (Spain), G.U.Z (Yugoslavia), Pax Vobiscum (UK), Pariapunk (France), Infezione (Italy), Crist (Yugoslavia), Subterranean Kids (Spain), Yugoslav Sun (Yugoslavia), No Fraud (USA), Wretched (Italy), KZV (Yugoslavia), BAP (Spain), Radikal HC (Spain), Extrem (Austria), Quod Massacre (Yugoslavia), RIP (Spain), Death Warmed Up (UK), Debauchery (UK), Genossen (Germany), Transgressor (USA), Blind Ambition (USA), and Inhuman Conditions (Germany). This release is an official re-issue in it's original format with full permission from Ripping Thrash."

V/A Lorteland CS $3.00

"Lorteland was originally released on the Boston Tea Party label from Denmark in 1983 in an edition of 150 copies. The compilation features 66 songs by 15 bands including TZP, War Of Destruction, Crap, Klar Pest, Disaster, Camouflage, Freshly Riots, Spild Af Tid, Enola Gay, and Diarré from Denmark; Terveet Kädet and A.D.L. from Finland; and Impact, Indigesti, and 5° Braccio from Italy. The tape contains the original insert which has a small section designed by each band with lyrics and other info. This is the third and final installment in a series of tape compilation reissues on Social Napalm."
-Social Napalm
Social Napalm//USA

MOB 47 - Garanterat Mob 47 / A Tribute To Mob 47 + Bonus Tracks CS $3.00

"Very cool tape originally released in August of 2001 on A.L.P. Tapes out of Sweden which was run by Krogh from Blindead Productions/Dömd fanzine. The B side of the tape features tracks from two different Mob 47 rehearsal/demo recording sessions. The first song was recorded in February of 1985, while tracks 2-19 were recorded at the last Mob 47 rehearsal ever in September of 1986 (until they reformed in 2005). The A side of the tape features bands all paying tribute to Mob 47 by covering some of their classic and best songs."
-Social Napalm
ALP Tapes//Sweden

"Split tape between a two hardcore punk bands playing raw and distorted music. Bloodkrow Butcher from Lowell, Massachusetts are heavily influenced by Discharge and 1980s Scandinavian hardcore like Anti-Cimex. I think the thing that what sets BKB apart from many bands doing this style is that they use catchy riffs with hooks to convey an urgency and power in their music instead of just beating the listener over the head with a pounding drum beat. Their side contains a live on the radio set as well as a four song demo. Gasmask Terrör from France has been around for a while with several releases including a 12" EP already out. This tape compiles their out of print "Architects Of Death" 7", an unreleased four track recording, and a live show recording. I think their gem here is the ripping unreleased song that reminds me a lot of No Security and Totalitär."

Great punk band from NYC that I recently had the pleasure of seeing. I don't even know what to compare this to, although it's clear they are taking some cues from Disorder. These guys are on their own trip and I like what they're doing. This comes in a cool looking silk screened pocket with a silk screened poster lyric sheet. Great stuff.

Cesspool Of Desolation

Ok, catching up on some awesome shit that I have collected over the past couple months. My pal Alex released this Portal E.P. and I have a few copies of Counterfeit Garbage zine issue 4, hot off the press. I can't tell you how excited I was to get the Kieltolaki 12". Absolutely raging fucking mad Finnish hardcore punk. Their previous comp tracks and 7"s blew my head off, so this LP is a treat, and it didn't let me down. Also, I have to mention new Systematic Death material....who would have thought that we would get the privilege of hearing a new Systematic Death album in 2010?! Another favorite of mine in this batch is the Varaus 12". Really nice, sturdy, tip-on gatefold cover. Amazing collection of raw hardcore documenting this Finnish band's legacy. It's a bit pricey, but well worth it, in my opinion. Let's not forget the Complications LP...how long have we all been waiting for this thing to come out?! All this stuff is great, this is a massively impressive batch of records that Feral Ward recently released.

Miscellaneous droppings

Gasmask Terror shirt design
Ok, I am hoping to give some realistic expectations on what is in store for the label and some of the bands that I am involved in. I've been getting emails on stuff, so hopefully this helps!

Gasmask Terrör's excellent new 12", Black Sun/Fake Gold is almost ready. It is a split release with the French label, I Feel Good. I am really looking forward to this, the tracks are fucking mean, more along the lines of their 'Architects Of Death' E.P.

The Nukkehammer: Future Of Siberia cassette is finally going to see the light of day, it will be a split release between Solar Funeral and Life Rot. After this, look out for some vinyl to litter the planet. Nukkehammer is also planning on doing some shows this year, including the Varning From Montreal festival. I will post these up once they are finalized.

Vile Gash have plans to record for a 12" and 7" single at some point soon. The single will come first. There has also been talk about playing some West coast U.S. shows in 2011.

The Paralzyer 12" has been on hold for a little while now, and instead of being a one sided 12", it will also include a new recording on the other side. The band is broken up, so hopefully they keep with the plan and the recording happens later this year. The band did release the Counting Catastrophe recording in a nice, digipack CD format, so pick that up from me or the band if interested.

The early 2000s Portland band, Midnight, have found the lost 2nd recording, so this means that the 12" will actually happen! For those of you that have the demo recording, you know that this deserves vinyl treatment, I am happy to say that it looks like it will be on its way. The 12" will have their great demo and the 2nd recording. Your guess is as good as mine as to when this will come to fuition, I'm hoping sometime soon. Fingers crossed.

I was orginally planning on doing an E.P. with Columbus's premier noise-core group, Penis Geyser. That has now morphed into a split 7" with Baltimore/D.C.'s Lotus Fucker. Double the pleasure! The plan is to get this monster going later this year. This will be a split release with Dan from LF's label.

Black Dove has yet to complete the recording for 2 upcoming 7"s. The music is done, we just need to get the vocals ripped out of our throats. It's a bit of a departure from the 12", but we're happy with how everything is turning out so far. It's hard to say what is actually different about it...it just is. In other Black Dove news, Carter (drummer) and Dascha have unleashed their mutant spawn unto the blackened Earth (they had a baby). I wish the best of luck to them and their little Henry Gherman Gilles!

Lastly, watch out for a demo tape from Silo to appear soon, I guess this band is like a mid-way point between Black Dove and Nukkehammer with some Bathory riffs?

Warning//Warning: My World ep

Great 6 song 7" by this French raw punk band. Perfect follow up to their self released demo. Members of GASMASK TERRÖR playing noisy hardcore in the vein of CONFUSE, GAI, ATROCIOUS MADNESS, LEBENDEN TOTEN, etc. Great shit.

**Sorry, now sold out...get them from Damaging Noise, Last Chaos, Feral Ward or Man Of 1000 Masks, thanks!**

I still have a few Vile Gash eps.

Wednesday, April 21, 2010

How fitting that both these bands are added in the same update. No, "Vile Gash" doesn't mean what you think it might mean. Hardcore kids are cretins, but come on, shame on you. Penis Geyser, on the other hand, might actually mean what you think it means...well, probably not.

Label: ______//USA

Fantastic noisecore release from Columbus, Ohio. PENIS GEYSER is one of my favorite local bands and their debut vinyl appearance did not disappoint me. They have a couple previous tape releases if you want to try to track them down. NAPALM DEATH IS DEAD, from Japan's side is great as well, I don't want to play them down, but I just love PG so much. Honestly, I don't know enough of this genre to give you influences or relative bands to compare this record to. In Punk layman's terms: try to imagine listening to a Bllleeeeaaauuurrrrgghhh! comp with the songs all done by two different bands. Shit rules.

Label: Youth Attack!//USA

10 song E.P. of cut throat, raw hardcore punk from Columbus, Ohio. Piercing guitars and cymbals constantly blast your ears until the dirge on track 10. Lyrical content focuses on the misanthropic; fleshing out frustrations of mundane life. Nice thick, simple cardstock cover with an inner pocket sleeve to house the record. People always get shit when they try to compare bands, but let's hope it will be more helpful than a bunch of vague adjectives. Imagine a more modern mixture of the YDI and Negative Approach 7"s plus a little bit of Discharge. Black vinyl.

Also added the BESTHÖVEN / BETON split 7" ($4.00) to the online list, forgot to add it, I have 2 left.
